A gentle 'nudge' to restore better movement

Chiropractic Adjustments

Chiropractic adjustment is a highly trained, specialist procedure in which chiropractors use their hands or a small instrument to apply a controlled, sudden force to a spinal joint. The goal of chiropractic adjustment, also known as spinal manipulation, is to correct structural alignment and improve your body's physical function.

During the adjustment, you may be asked to lie on a specially designed table. By placing his or her hands in precise locations and using controlled movements, your chiropractor works on individual joints to improve mobility and relieve discomfort.

Chiropractic Adjustments help to remove postural imbalances and structural misalignments that can accumulate in our bodies over time. Our spines change and develop problems just like our teeth, eyes and heart. Left unchecked for a long time, these changes can lead to pain, stiffness or other more serious problems.

The intent of chiropractors is NOT to treat a disease, reduce pain or any other symptom. We do not profess to heal your symptoms, we do not treat symptoms, we treat patients WITH symptoms.  Our intent, with the use of chiropractic adjustments, is to help revive your spine’s ability to function more normally.  The power that makes the body, heals the body and how you think, move and think all affect how your body heals.  Together we can mark the beginning of great healing!

What do chiropractic adjustments feel like?

After the adjustment, many patients report a sense of well-being or a feeling of calmness. Others feel improved mobility. Inflammation or muscle spasms may delay these positive effects. Chiropractors excel at making adjustments comfortable and effective.

You may hear popping or cracking sounds as your chiropractor moves your joints during the treatment session.

Are chiropractic adjustments safe?

YES! Chiropractic adjustments are so safe, even newborns and children receive adjustments to repair the damage caused from the birth process, learning to walk, or other childhood trauma.

Each adjustment is tailored to each patient's age, size and unique spinal problem. After years of training, each Chiropractor has selected a variety of methods and become skilled in their delivery.
